About me

I was born in 1980 and grew up in a rather boring suburb to Helsinki called Kårböle.

Our house was always filled with books. My parents read just about anything: science books, crime novels, romance (ok, not you dad), fantasy, history.

I had quite an impressive bookshelf myself, mostly filled with the works of Astrid Lindgren, Carolyn Keene and Enid Blyton. Every Saturday we took the bus to the centre of Helsinki and spent ages at Akademiska bokhandeln, the largest book store in town. Then we went to Pizza Hut.

I graduated in 1999 and started to study journalism at Helsinki University. Soon I started working as radio host att The Finnish broadcasting company YLE.

I absolutely love doing radio! In 2011 I was offered a very exciting task: to be a commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest! My colleague Johan and I gave it a go, and had so much fun. Together we have now been the Swedish commentators för YLE for more than ten years.

In 2016 my first novel Sommarön was published, and since then I have written three more crime novels och three horror books for children.

I am amazed that my books have been so successful both in Finland and abroad.

Hallonbacken (The Mystery of Raspberry Hill) was awarded with the Runeberg Junior prize in 2019 and Den åttonde tärnan (The Eight Maiden) was given The clue of the year-award as the best Finnish crime novel of the year, also in 2019.

In 2022 I made the decision to become a full time author.

Today I live in a lovely yellow house in Esbo with a lovely husband and three mostly lovely children.

Currently I am working on the fourth book in the Anna Glad series.
